I watched it too. Nobody with any sense of objectivity would call that a hit piece. In fact much of the work they do in their communities helping others in need would differ greatly from what Romney believes.

last time I went to church I just wanted the rev to let me go home

I don't think Obama has rev wright com in every sunday to preach to him,
but pretty sure Romney hits temple at least once a week

The Wright story was a story. Romney's Mormonism is as well.

You are simultaneously arguing that Wright's version of Christianity should have been covered more, while Romney's Mormonism should be covered less.

The political aspects of Wright's church should have been covered more. You know, communism, rejecting the oppressive white power structure and "middle classness". I don't care about what kind of afterlife he believed in or whether or not his church wanted it's members to raise their kids in the same traditions. I'm shocked that you can't tell the difference.

I think most people don't understand what mormons believe, but I think most people see them as upstanding and moral people.

Pretty sure you have no idea what you're talking about. Mormon temples are not the same thing as congregations/churches. There's <150 temples worldwide and they are reserved for rites, not daily/weekly congregational services.

You couldn't even herd the Mormon membership through their Temple resources on a weekly basis even if it consisted of each member walking in one door and out the other.

I largely agree, though the inclusion of the number 'I believe' from tBoM at the end online was a bit of a head scratcher.

As is my usual lot in life, I find myself in the muddling middle WRT these issues. Without getting too personal, I was raised in a faith related to the Mormons [those who already know, . . . already know]. And while I sigh in relief at missing the supposed 'wackier' aspects of the faith that have been alleged to have emerge as they wandered West, my own church marches 'forward' in a manner that erases all aspects of what I consider 'church-ly.' From a temporal/secular standpoint much of it is laudable, but much of it makes no sense from the POV of a tradition founded on the belief that Christianity cleaves to a singular truth that apostatized over the centuries and needed restoration. So I'm left envious of the organization of the Mormons, and the steadfastness of their belief system, wishing my church aspired to those ends a little more with a lot less secularization and modernity, while still avoiding those 'wacky' developments of the westward trek.
