The conversation discourse in D.C. should be better.

I've been gone from D.C. for a couple of years and since I've been back I've been disappointed in the name calling and ridicule of another posters position. Immediately writing off someone who doesnt agree with you.

Yes, there are going to be strongly held beliefs on both sides. Passion for a position. If your position is the right position, surely you can make your point without name calling or making fun od the poster. Surely you can point out the fallacy of their position without calling then an idiot.

I'm not saying we have a cumbaya moment. Just that we each think before a post if we need to post the vitirol and name calling to make our points.

Just because D.C. isn't moderated doesn't mean we should just post any ****ing thing we want.

Oh, and Paul is going to be on Jay Leno tonight. If he runs 3P we may find out if the rumor is true or not. Stay tuned.

At least BRC can make his stance without going full retard. I don't understand how he can be DOD and vote obama but I can respect his right to be wrong.

People are going to do what they do and say what they say, until they can no longer get away with either. You asking for change won't enact it. Sorry, but that's the truth.

Besides, this place has NEVER been the forum for level-headed discourse. A primarily football related message board is hardly the place for that. Just sayin............

I absolutely loathe the freeloaders. I feel we should help up our fellow human beings. Not with hand outs but helping them to help themselfs. And if they dont want to get off the taxpayer dime, **** em.

I voted for Ronald Regan...twice, George H. Bush.

I'm pissed off at the hypocrites, including Dems.

Why I left the Republican party:
Tax cuts weighed hevaily in favor of the rich doesn't work. Trickle down economics doesnt work. George W. Bush tired that and now Romey wants the same thing. Why should I return to that crap?

I don't believe the government has a right to tell a person what they should do with their body. How can a R say they are all about individual liberty and keeping government out of their lifes but advocate such an invasive government intrusion into a persons own choice.

If we allow businesses to do whatever they want, they will behave badly in the chase for profit. We have to have regualtions or they will run amok. We saw that all play out in 2008-2009.
This is a GREAT POST!!

A difficulty that arises with regularity in nearly ANY community with a long history of discourse is when someone comes in fresh, or returns from a lengthy absence and posts a bunch of stuff, much of which has been debated more reasonably and with much greater detail already, and reintroduces hashed arguments as BRAND NEW INFORMATION!!!

Try posting a 'hey guys, stop being so hard on Cassel, he tore it up in NE and went to the PB in 2010' thread in the main lounge, and you'll get an eerily similar response.

Or, to voice my standup pet peeve du jour;

I hate, hate, hate, the alt-comic bit about how the pharmaceutical industry is sexist because breast cancer has no cure, but boner pills are all over the place. Sure, a cheap laugh, but 'boner pills' were discovered by ACCIDENT, trying to develop a drug alleviate ischemic heart disease. And it's super cheap to produce, and it provides FUNDING to conduct further research towards a cure for EXPONENTIALLY MORE difficult maladies such as breast cancer.

So freedom is a cult to you. Seems this applies to our Founders too. That's good company.

I still beg to differ, since it's not devotion as much as it is enthusiasm. You're butt hurt because you have to vote for someone you don't like and therefore try to be derogatory to those that love freedom. The correct word for you is cynic/cynical. Sad, really.

I've worked 60+ hours a week, stressful ****ing hours helping the USA hunt down and kill terriosts. Yes, I make a good salary but I can make more elsewhere.
You don't do what I do for money. You have to believe in the mission.

I felt it was a privlidge and honor to help make us safer. My skills are the skills the military just doesnt have. They need patrotic americans with these skills who believe in the mission that have the passion to perform these tasks.

I still remember 9/11 like it was yesterday. My and the wifes family has been in this country since the early 1700's. I'm the first person in my family to go to college etc. This country has been good to me.

Why can't I be for eliminating every member of Al-Quaeda on the face of the earth and also vote for Obama? Why can't I believe as I do and still be a patriot?

And this is the reason we cannot have civil discussions here. Long held hate that cannot be let go
