I think Obama running would be incredibly unlikely.
If he did, especially if Romney's administration sputtered and America started going through withdrawals, his candidacy would easily be the DNP's strongest. Hillary Clinton, obv. I'd like Elizabeth Warren to run, but obviously she needs a foothold in office first. |

It'll be Hillary unless someone starts making waves in the next couple of years.

Hilary.
They'll keep feeding her and assume she'll be seen as "too big to fail".

I think Chris Christie has that angle covered.

I think the pendulum swings here once again. Two years is a long time in politics and as I look at the world's many foreign policy challenges and war weariness in the country, America will look for what they see as someone able to skillfully keep the peace. That bodes well for both Clinton and Biden obviously. America always wants an inspirational leader and 2016 will demand that. There is no mood in America for a Mr. FixIt who the public won't instinctively trust, and who can blame them. Divisiveness is on its last gasp now, and will be dead in January. It the republicans persist with obstruction the party will simply implode until somebody grasps the greatestness of Theodore Roosevelt. Only this kind of republican will America ever trust again. Ironically, eventually even Teddy left his own disconnected party.
So its premature to speculate on Democratic 2016 motives. |

Judging by his speech last night, Deval Patrick could get some backing.

I have mixed emotions on first term senators also. I thought it was too soon for Obama but he has proven me wrong. I thought perhaps Bob Dole was ready but he proved me wrong too. I don't think Rubio is ready, but I do think this race would have been entirely different had Romney picked him. He should have. Obama may win Florida and none of the other battleground states would matter. In fact, if I were Obama I would spend all my money in Florida and all my time in Colorado, Ohio and Virginia. Obama has a real chance to win in Virginia and take the open Senate seat too. If he does, you can cross Virginia off the GOP's map...its gone forever and that makes it very very hard for republicans from that point on.

Romney would run against Romneys magic underwear and Joseph Smiths magic glasses.
