Now if that "nonwhite" as you put it, is the most qualified candidate, then fine. If you are putting him/her out there just because of skin color, well then.......................

You numbnuts are soooooo happy about the handjob Obama gave you last night that you didn't even realize he was ****ing you in the ass at the same time.

Same old hopey, changey drivel that has given us $16T (and counting) in debt, and an economy that is in a potential Death Spiral. Hey, but it was SUCH a great speech! Hooray for all of us!

His speech was pretty much nullified by the shitty jobs report this morning. 96,000 total jobs added even though unemployment dipped to 8.1% because people stopped looking for work.

I've seen bad reviews of his speech from the Left and the Right. I didn't watch it myself.

Bad form, Direckshun. Stay out of this if you're going to be an idiot. There's absolutely nothing trollish about asking him to explain himself.

Again, 90% of the "debt" is to ourselves. Do you advocate that the US calls in all its markers with Great Britain, Spain, Germany, etc. and pay off the "debt"?
So the answer is "why not?" Brilliant. You're a true intellectual.

But what some people don't know is that I worked at the International Council on Foreign Relations at USC under the tutelage of Dr. Abraham Lowenthal. I spoke to Condi Rice every day for six months, as well as the heads of various countries. Many of the people I worked with back then are Presidential advisers, work at D.C. "Thinktanks" like the Brookings Institute, etc.

So, what's your deal?
Did you ever get the sense that they thought you were a dumbass?

I thought it was above average but he knew the job numbers prior to giving it so that effected the tone of it for sure.

I'm not saying it's the most qualified.

But the GOP is too exclusive right now. None of its policies appeal to any minorities, and they're losing more women right now than ever.

Their only hope is white men. They have to hope they win over enough middle- and older-aged straight white men to offset their massive losses amongst the young, women, blacks, browns, Jews, and gays. Too many of their policies play too poorly amongst those groups.

That's not sustainable. Because as the population grows, and the minority populations slowly become the majority, the GOP could risk extinction.

I know asking people to stick around and answer questions is a sore spot with you, but this time I'm talking to someone else about it.

It was just... blah. It really felt like he was just throwing stuff against the wall, with no structure or theme. He speaks great, but it was just hollow. Maybe because we've heard it all before, maybe because he admitted that his perspective is that the road ahead under his stewardship will be even harder than it already has been.

It was just a tired, disorganized mess. As Krauthhammer said, it was pretty much an empty vision, rather than a plan.
