How Do You Grow the Economy From the Middle Out

I keep hearing this line from the Dems. How, precisely, do you grow the economy "from the middle out?"

Not trying to be mean, but do you think My insurance should be higher because of across the board coverage? I don't, any more than you should be dinged for my health issues. Socialized health care is substandard to what we have and I don't want it, even if it makes liberals feel better.

As for your magic number that defines wealthy business that should be hammered, do you know what will happen? I do. Businesses that big are large enough to hire good enough attorneys that they'll essentially subdivide divisions of their companies to stay under those thresholds and it will be legal.

I'm not saying rich shouldn't pay taxes, I'm not suggesting that big business shouldn't be taxed. What they need to do is close loopholes for deductions or set tax brackets that reward job creation.

I'm becoming more of a fan of the concept of no payroll taxes, other than maybe SS...and going to consumption based taxes if the flat tax won't work.
As long as those Billionaires are recieving those Bush tax cuts I'm not going to listen to any R telling me we cant afford "it". Tax cuts for billionaires or no head start, no investment in education, no health care etc etc. I could make a list of 1000 items that the people need more than a billionaire needs his taxes cut.

My son loses his credit for 10 years. Thats not a small thing.

I've been paying helath care premiums for 35 years. Never been sick, never been in an accident or been hospitalized. Now because I have a fat ass and take $5.00 a month medication I shouldnt be covered any longer? They have got 35 years of premiums out of me and I've not used hardly any of that money. Now lets drop his fat ass. Thats the current system. Keep the profit flowing.

The idea is that when you put these 30 million new people into the insurance system, most are not going to tap their insurance for many years just like I did. Same principle as to why pizza buffets are successful. I visit a pizza buffett, they probably don't make much money but "normal" people eat less and they make a profit. It's spread around over many people. Thats the core of the idea.

I don't have that magic number either. I know that the Chicago Cubs are not a small business.

when you have businesses with revenue of $1 million with those that have revenue of $50 million trying for the same pile of tax breaks, thats not working. The $1 million company and the $50 million company have totally different needs to expand and hire. They are just not the same thing.

Maybe just pick a number, give out tax breaks to a small business that generated less than $5 million a year? I think if you are generating $5 million a year, you are on your way. Let's find the next start up and give them that tax benefit that the now $6 million company was recieving.

People a lot smarter than me can determine that magic number.

You don't. But this bottom up sh** is just absurd and needs to stop but it won't because it's what Marxists do. Play the class warfare card at every turn in order to give the 'illusion' of being for the middle class while purposely destroying it per Marx and Saul Alinsky. When you have a strong middle class Marxism is nil. Marxism needs the majority of the masses to be poor and needy in order for control pure and simple.

I get your "tongue in cheek" question though.

Not if reconciliation is used. The Dems used that to pass it. So, determined Republicans will use it to repeal ACA. That just requires a simple 51 vote majority in the Senate for a fast-track repeal. A Republican sweep of govt is definitely necessary though. It's too bad the R Party leadership was so stupid in its tactics during the primary season, which btw, was not just done to Paul's campaign but some of the other candidates too. Still, it's now before most of ACA is implemented which will keep it there until the system implodes.

Obama put forth a huge tax cut for businesses this summer, why didnt the Republicans vote for it?

I think your struggle is what every american should support. A guy has an idea, puts his heart and soul into it, hires a few people etc. Thats exactly how we build the middle class and get out of this mess.

I'm also against stupid ass regulations. I have to deal with that stupidity daily. But, we almost had another depression because we allowed businesses to do whatever they wanted. Almost total deregulation caused so much harm to this country. Wheres that line when we have trip wires in place so that businesses dont cause us all to suffer a depression?
We haven't come close to "almost total deregulation" during your lifetime. What you're complaining about, even if you don't realize it, is the misregulation and unintended consequence of government action. This utopia that you envision where government keeps all the good regulations and discards the bad just doesn't exist.

Well, under the collectivist system That the Obama administration has been incrementally imposing, there will be no middle class just government-dependent peasants and their wise, all-powerful rulers.

Imo, arguing about whether tax cuts should be focused on the middle class or the wealthy is rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic. We didn't lose our industries to China et al. because we misallocated a few tax cuts to one group or another. And if these are the best ideas of both sides this country is doomed.
