Yup.. a week and half after the breach happened... after they had previously denied that there was a breach.. Their handling of the situation was piss poor.
The fact that they didn't have properly setup and secure firewalls is laughable.

Which is probably why PSN is still free. They are losing a shitton of money.

PSN Playstation + (paid PSN) is actually doing very well. It's also a pretty great deal considering how many free games and discounts you get.

And Microsoft has had similar instances on a smaller scale.

except for their website for billing being a convulted mess and phone support constantly telling me there is no cc on the account even though my console shows it every time I get to the confirm purchase screen.

They finally found it and removed it but it took 30 minutes on the phone with them constantly telling me it wasn't there when it ultimately was.

one thing is for certain, I will never sign up for a 1 or 2 month free xbox live again since that shit requires a credit card even when you have no interest in renewing.

AFter today, I think this is the last xbox I will ever own.

Have fun if you ever decide you want to delete your Gamertag/Live account.

You submit the request via a link buried in their website and then wait 270 days for it to "expire" and be removed.

Of course, then you come back 400 days later and it's still there and they want you to start the process all over.

No matter how many times you ask, they won't delete it.
