I was reluctant to criticize Lehrer because the steamroller would get anybody, BUT he did have control over the order of topics.

He put arguably the most important topic last, and we wont get into it. If you want economy/jobs #1, fine but #2 should have been the role of government.

For that reason, I'll say Lehrer did poorly.
