Depends on what you are counting... debates CAN and DO influence the undecideds and that is all that matters right now. They are a TINY part of the electorate this year but enough to decide the election.

I like what Bill Maher said a few weeks ago (paraphrasing):

If you don't know who you're voting for at this point, you're just ****ing too stupid to vote.

I'm extremely biased (EB), of course, but I honestly thought that Obama had ideas in his head that he completely fumbled in the delivery. There were several times when I knew what he was trying to say but thought what actually came out of his mouth barely made any sense if at all. I can't imagine what people who don't follow this as closely as we do thought he was trying to say. Romney, on the other hand, had concise, easy-to-understand explanations, IM(EB)O.

I was all Clinton's fault, he left it in good condition, but set up for future failure

In Bump's defense, that was a long time ago. We're talking 1988 for Bush (24 years) and 32 years (Carter).

Ford wasn't actually elected, so he doesn't really count.

I didn't think they were as bad as usual, partly because I thought he held back. Well, I've got it recorded, so I'll watch it again another time or two.

And it wasn't just that: The guy kept nodding his head while Romney was speaking, which basically looked like he was agreeing with him. His body language was awful and he acted like he was getting beat down.

His debate advisers need to fired immediately. And who doesn't practice in front of a mirror or faux audience?

That's debate/public speaking 101.
