After taking debate lumps, Obama calls Romney a phony
You just can't make this shit up...
Following a widely panned debate performance, President Obama ratcheted up his attacks Thursday on Mitt Romney, accusing the GOP candidate of selling the public false promises during the presidential forum. “When I got on the stage, I met this very spirited fellow who claimed to be Mitt Romney,” Obama told Denver supporters. “The real Romney has been running around the country for the last year promising $5 trillion in tax cuts that favor the wealthy.” Obama was far more animated in front of thousands of supporters near the site of Wednesday’s Denver debate, a noticeable contrast to his demeanor just hours before. On the debate stage, Obama looked agitated and disinterested, while Romney — frequently criticized for appearing too wooden — was animated but relatable. Looking to rebound from the poor showing, the Obama campaign Thursday conceded that Romney won the debate on style points. Now Obama is seeking to disarm the former Massachusetts governor by discrediting his message. “You see, the man on stage last night, he does not want to be held accountable for the real Mitt Romney’s decisions,” Obama said. “We don’t want what he’s been selling for the last year.” Obama said that Romney was intentionally being elusive about his blueprint for job growth and reducing the deficit because the numbers don’t add up. “We didn’t know that Big Bird was driving the federal deficit,” Obama said, mocking Romney’s debate pledge to eliminate federal subsides for PBS. Obama also highlighted Romney’s assertion in a private fundraiser that nearly half the country was dependent on the federal government — a topic conspicuously absent from Wednesday’s debate — saying that Romney was a politician who “writes off half the nation before he takes office.” The president will travel to Madison, Wis. later today for another campaign rally, while Romney and Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., will hold an event in Fishersville, Va. http://washingtonexaminer.com/after-...rticle/2509852 |

I think it is beyond hillarious that Obama actually accused someone else of not wanting to be held accountable....

Hope in the next debate that Romney tightens his grip on the Blameless Ones's balls. I'd love to see him get the smack down again

The current POTUS has no shame. He must really be steamed about his beat down. Lame excuses just make it look worse, IMO.

I suspect the Pres will come back strong next debate.
Romney is by no means a popular conservative choice and he figured he could coast through this one. He got cock-punched. I doubt he makes the same mistake twice.

Yeah but that could be just what Romney wants. Do you think Romney was not prepared for attacks about Bane and such? He left a lot on the table last night and probably good he did. One Dem Strategist said Obama did the right thing not bringing up Bane and what not because the way Romney was firing off last night it probably would have gone against Obama rather quickly.

O'Bama can't think quick enough on his feet. I feel that any attack he instigates will be turned on him so quickly he won't know how to react or what to say. That's when people say shit they wish they wouldn't have.

Obama needs to take a day off. He looked really bad last night. Calling out Romney on any topic from last night makes him look quite foolish

Obama is the ultimate puppet....when he has to think on his own, especially trying to defend all the bullshit that's gone on under his watch.......it's downright comical.
That's pretty much the reason why the establishment in no way wanted Ron Paul to win the GOP nomination and did everything in their power to prevent him from doing so...because he'd talk about real issues (Romney won't) and Obama would would fumble up so bad he would literally look like the biggest fraud in US History. It would have been the ultimate clown suit fitting on the democratic party and the establishment. Of course Obama will always have the 47% of people who don't pay taxes, the 50 million people that require govt food stamps and most of the minority vote, basically the people that have been domesticated by the federal govt.

I think it's hilarious that Obama is talking trash the day after he got his ass handed to him in the debate. What a pussy. If he had something to say, he should have said it during the ****ing debate.

I'd bet anything Obama is going to come out meaner, more aggressive, and more negative in the next debate. We already saw a preview of the strategy in today's news cycle.
I don't think it's going to work. His record is bad. He can't defend it. He's getting by on likeability right now. If he goes angry, he loses the deference the public gives him for that. Here we are, with the landscape having shifted suddenly, and to this point Obama has been outspending Romney on advertising. Meanwhile, Romney sits on all that cash he's been holding for the stretch run. Have they just sprung the trap? |

Based on the fact checking articles I've read today, he's not that far off. At the same time, he did his own fair share of stretching the truth during the debate as well.
In other words, it probably wasn't even worth watching. Go figure. |
