Yes, would be nice...but when default is reality, it may be time to re-think that. When you cant afford the mortgage, you cannot continue to have a butler and a maid.

If we can send huge sums of cash to Egypt??? We can find a way to use our own machines to reach Orbit. Its more about satellites & national defense to me.

Needing Russia to reach space.

Thats unthinkable for most of my generation. & Its UN-****ING-ACCEPTABLE & DANGUROUSE IMO

Pat Buchanan was on Hannity's radio program today. He said Romney's performance last night was the best debate performance he'd ever seen on a substantive level. He adds the modifier because he places Romney 2nd next to Reagan's 1980 performance in terms of style. That's some pretty high praise from a guy who, while conservative, isn't really a Romney fanboy.

As far as I'm concerned, it was the best I can remember with the possible exceptions of Dick Cheney's masterful efforts in the VP debates of 2000 and 2004. Of course, I wasn't really paying all that much attention when Reagan was doing his thing.

You might want to double check your numbers...it's not 450 billion, but more like 1-2 billion. That said, even 2 dollars is too much IMO.

I do tend to agree with you about the space program, but it is one of those things that might need to be cut in the interest in preventing default.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida A private company is headed back to the International Space Station.

On Sunday night, SpaceX will try to launch another Dragon capsule full of food, clothes and science experiments for the astronauts at the space station. The company hopes to repeat the success of its test flight in May.

This is the California company's first official launch under a $1.6 billion contract with NASA. The contract calls for 12 deliveries.

The U.S. space agency is counting on private business to help keep the space station stocked, now that its space shuttles are retired.

Rainy weather could keep the company's Falcon rocket grounded. Forecasters said Thursday there's a 60 percent chance of favorable conditions for the launch from Florida's Cape Canaveral.
SpaceX is run by PayPal co-founder Elon Musk.

Fair enough...you could have edited to say 'any sum'...I agree. Our top 3 problems are Social Security, Medicare and debt service. These other things are rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

We've got serious problems.

Both...I prefer that we attempt to address this now, rather than pawn it to our children, but I realize that may be too little.

Man you guys are entertaining. This debate doesn't mean shit. Romney is still going to get stomped. Just wait for the damage the ads about his admission on turning medicare into a voucher program will do to his campaign.

Keep up the circle jerk though.
