I agree. I'm okay with stopping funding for PBS.

As far as I'm concerned, it was the best I can remember with the possible exceptions of Dick Cheney's masterful efforts in the VP debates of 2000 and 2004. Of course, I wasn't really paying all that much attention when Reagan was doing his thing.
Regan vs, Carter was his best. Made me a Republican for 12 years.

That's one of the most concise and accurate summaries of this debate that I've seen.

Primarily because my words do not remotely describe the Romney campaign of the past 4 years.

I love how this is all a Democratic creation, the idea that Romney changes his ideas for political expediency.

This is an attack line developed by Republicans. I've posted in this very forum a 200-page McCain counterattack plan against Romney from 2008 that details all the things the Democrats are alleging Romney is constantly doing.

This is just another Etch N Sketch, this past debate and the last five weeks of god knows where his positions will be at any given moment.

The man is not a principled conservative, nor is he really any true moderate. He's just ambition, personified. Whatever series of words it will take to get to Plan B.

This is not a Democratic idea. It is an idea with bipartisan support. For at least the half-decade he's been running for President non-stop.

Conservatives and Republicans are just deciding not to give two shits because it actually worked extremely well two nights ago. It was perfectly delivered and the President was not up to the task of dismantling it.

Again, I'm not apologizing for what was clearly a lackluster performance by the President. But let's be straight here. Romney was effective because he rolled out a new, moderate version of himself that contrasts sharply with the self-described "severely conservative" Romney of the past four years.

Up to this point, Romney/Ryan was clearly the most conservative ticket the Republicans had put out there since I can remember. I can't think of another Republican candidacy that was more conservative, though my recollection only goes as far back as Reagan's 1980s campaign.

Maybe Obama should have just held up a variety of bumper stickers that said, "Hope and Change," and stuff.
