Drones drones and more drones
Not closing Gitmo
Continuing the War on Drugs/closing medical MJ shops

Bradley Manning
Obamacare should have been single-payer or at least had a public option
Not supporting gay marriage sooner
Not pulling out of Afghanistan sooner

I'm sure there are tons more, that's just in 30 seconds of thinking about it. Please list specific items that you think make Obama a raging socialist or liberal. Note: "he wants to destroy this country and rebuild it into a socialist paradise" is not a specific item.

Just because your party has gone so far around the bend to the right in the last couple decades - doesn't mean a president who's practically right of Eisenhower, and definitely right of the Mitt Romney we saw on stage two nights ago--is still not mostly a centrist. Do you think Todd Akin is a moderate?

It's pretty entertaining to watch Direckshun flail around like this trying to salvage the fake Mitt that he and his comrades have tried so hard to create. It's notable that in all those paragraphs that he laboriously typed out, he didn't bother to make his case with any concrete examples that weren't BS. (Note that while Romney endorsed the Ryan plan as far as House legislation is concerned, it's never been his plan. It's nothing more than the point in the debate when he said Obama should have grabbed Bowles-Simpson, but when asked he clarified that he has his own plan. There are plenty of things to like about Bowles-Simpson as well as the original Ryan plan, but that doesn't mean he is accountable for every aspect of either. He's got his own plans).

How much damage is it going to do? Aren't the main people worried about medicare seniors? And didn't he make it clear that nobody near retirement would be affected by this? I don't think this is a pivotal issue if you're not retirement age.

On several other topics, Romney has kept himself so vague so that he can bob and weave specifics to dodge his opponents' arguments.

This is not new news. It happened in 2008. It happened this primary season. And now it's happening now.

Everybody on earth agreed this was common behavior for this guy.

But now that the stakes involve potentially defeating Obama, Republicans and conservatives have comfortably reversed that belief, now embracing the claim that Romney is a consistent, principled conservative. Just like they reversed themselves on cap and trade, the individual mandate, DREAM, federal stimulus, federal education reform, spreading democracy in the Middle East, and endless other topics since January 2009.

In a way, I'm glad we've got Romney on board for the 2012 GOP opponent, whether he wins or loses.

Because he is the encapsulation of the sudden radical ideological turns, intellectual dishonesty and partisan brinksmanship that has embodied today's Republican Party.

You don't think Obama's sudden reversal on gay marriage wasn't a tactical decision to energize socially liberal independents? Or the sudden urgency behind issuing visas to young immigrants? Or the fact that Obama told Putin he would be given license to do more with Russia after the election?

Both parties are neutered by their base and both have to pander to get votes. It's the political process. Let's not pretend that it works for one party and not the other. I am a moderate and Romney is one of the first candidates to energize me, because I believe he is a true moderate. As a true moderate, I think it kills Romney that he has to take on sometimes crazy conservative ideologies that he doesn't necessarily agree with. What we saw in the debate was a Romney that I believe had his back to the wall and realized he was going to win by being himself, rather than a lackey for his party. I don't think it's intellectual dishonesty. I think Romney is a candidate who believes that bullheadedness on a belief isn't the way to go. I completely agree with and love the idea of a candidate who lays out principals then achieves bipartisan compromise to get it done. That's how it works in the business world. A CEO that gets into specific details about what cuts Congress should make... that's what you call a micro-manager.
