Would it not be more merciful and efficient, from a creator's standpoint, to fix the flaws in your design without killing all of the subjects? I mean, if you have a litter of puppies, and two of them keep shitting on the floor, would it be more merciful to break them of that habit, or euthanize the whole litter except one(who doesn't shit on the floor)? Saying you had power to do both?

We were made perfect and corrupted by Fallen Angels, those fruits can be seen in all of their glory to this day. Assuming he is GOD (a large assumption for you i understand) wouldn't you think he might now a little bit more about it than those he created?

There isn't any point in arguing with you, you're the natural man. I do not claim what I say is gospel, but it is what is written in my heart. Last time I checked the bible states EVERY man is a liar. If I had all the answers I wouldn't be human but GOD. I can say i diligently seek him, which is more than most do.

This is a post I have no issue with. You speak of faith and are not proclaiming the arrogance of all knowing. I disagree with you beliefs but sincerely hope they bring you happiness~

So how old is the earth. We have a House Member saying 9000 years. Here is my question. We can determine distance based upon the amount of light we see if we know how bright the Candle or Light bulb is as the source. It is elemental physics. We have reference stars. These are stars close enough that we can triangulate, using Parallax, to determine their absolute distance. This is just geometry, trigonometry. We then use our 100 year understanding of connection between the temperature, the spectra and sizes of these stars to give us the Main Star Sequence. Within this are the variable stars. There are several kinds but well understood because most exist within Parallax distances. These are stars that are known Candles or Light Bulbs, their spectra stands out easily identified. Wherever we find the signature pulsating signals we can know the output of these Candles. And then distance can be easily computed. Distances well over 100,000 light-years distance are easily seen today. Two orders of magnitude over 9000 years. Hubble Telescope gives us views of distance Galaxies with these unique Candles that reach million of light years. I can't accept the literal interpretation of the Bible, certainly about the beginning of existence for the earth and space.

does our ever changing position in space relative to the objects in question get accounted for in the calculations? how does the Doppler effect come in to play? over those great distances and great amounts of time, how does our own speed relative to that observed light affect time dilation? if you have a good link that would be great, save you some typing

A) Yes and no, The distances things move in our lifetimes is so minute as to not be needed for inclusion
B) Doppler (or red shift) shows the speed at which the object is moving away from us. Or in the case of M31 toward us
C) No it doesn't when something is 125,000,000,000,000,000,000 miles away, us moving through space even at light speed would not change the perceived distance to another galaxy. Said another way, 100 light years (a lifetime of traveling at light speed) is within the margin of error of something 30,000,000 light years away.
