A little early but I was just sitting in the park this afternoon when a small group of runner's came by me and it was Ryan running along the waters edge. They were running a pretty damn good clip. A quick pace for a jog that's for sure.

WTF is he doing his debate prep in St. Pete?

On Saturday night Romney held a big rally about 1/2 mile from my house and right across from where Ryan was running.

Here's the real impact that this debate may actually have:

Does Obama have to tone it down now?

Obama's handlers have had us believe that he was going to come out guns blazing in the next debate and try to take it to Romney. With the narrative from this debate being what a prick Biden was, does it change Obama's approach any? Does he have to soften his demeanor lest the entire ticket be branded as confrontational and abrasive?

Honestly, I have no idea how I'd advise him. If he goes out there with an attacking style and pulls it off, the ticket could be seen as vigorous and assertive. It could be a huge boost. Then again, if he doesn't nail it, they become a ticket full of out of touch, pompous d-bags.

It's an interesting place he finds himself now.

I agree with AustinChief that the format for the first debate was superior and that Lehrer did a fine job. I liked the way the candidates challenged each other and had the opportunity to respond to those challenges better than the way Martha Raddatz essentially interviewed the two men and limited their ability to challenge and rebut each other.

It's one thing to be occasionally flippant, but to carry yourself like an a$$ can come across all wrong. Let's put it this way....my wife was completely turned off by his demeanor. She's lived with me all her life and is highly tolerant...so if she walked away because of his demeanor you know it made the wrong impression.

Well there are a couple of things that jump out at me with your statement: 1) your wife has lived with you her whole life?
2)I don't know you so how can I take your word for it?



On the way Biden carried himself: First Obama seemed weak in the first debate, almost bullied, and took flack for it. Do you feel Biden appeared weak or disinterested? I did not.

No ****ing way Obama goes guns a blazing during the next debate. It will defeat himself. There is a position between guns a blazing and what happened last time.

OH MAN I hope so! Biden can let all the negativity attach to him and it won't affect the election but if Obama loses his "likable" card, he is TOAST.

I hate it when a candidate is cut off mid point and the subject is changed, there was much more back and forth in the Leherer debate....

Biden's antics didn't bother me with the exception of one stretch late in the debate where he was interrupting almost every sentence Ryan uttered. Overall, I might have given a slight edge to Biden if it hadn't been for Ryan's dominating closing sequence (both his last answer and his closing statement). As far as I'm concerned, it was close enough to a draw that there's not much point in saying one guy was the winner.

Drudge has always been right, but he's more about making headlines than slavishly advancing the cause of conservatives. That's why he didn't seem as conservative when Bush was in the WH as he does now that Obama is.
