Apple support
Buddy of mine cracked his screen on his iPad. He said the Apple tech wants money to even talk to him. Has anyone gone through this? I'd hate to have him pay for a service call just to have him take it to an apple store or something retarded.

I work for a school, and last year we handed out 300 new ipads. Naturally some of them got dropped, or used as frisbees. Apple told us that they wouldn't fix cracked screens, or if they did, it was almost as much as a new one.

Instead, we found a side shop that fixes smart phone screens and iPad screens. I would look around for something like that.

This... Apple Support is very good but yeah, you have to pay for it. I ordered the newest OS from them last week and received 6 months free. (ligaf)

Just find a shop somewhere that can help him out.
