No, but I hear some states are talking about a proportional division. Why any state of significance would do that, however, is sort of a mystery...

New Mexico has a very popular Democratic Governor I believe, so Obama might be riding on his endorsement.

NH is very much an independent/libertarian state, they tend to go there own way on any given election.

Those two states do stand out on the map, as they are surrounded by opposites colors.

Only thing that would do would be to negate their vote by slitting it. If you have an even number of EC votes, they would split right down the middle unless one candidate had more than 60% of the votes. I like the district system in place in Maine and Nebraska much better.

I'm a Democrat, but regardless of my political beliefs, I was for it then as well. (Though I was eight years old.) I think it's an archaic system that needs to be abolished or altered, (in a way that the states split their electoral handouts, as what's been mentioned in this thread.)

Unfortunately, all of the above would take a constitutional amendment, and likely a united outcry from the public. (I was wondering if this was a possibility if the latter occurred again.)

Its time to abolish the electoral college whether or not it effects this election. I personally am not happy letting voters in Ohio and Florida exclusively decide our presidential elections.
