Funny, you would think Drudge would not want to link to that, being that he needs to keep his Republican Overlords happy by only posting positive things about the Republican Ticket.
I don't think Direckshun really understands the Drudgereport.

Again, I expect this kind of reply from somebody who doesn't check Drudge.

It is demonstrably false that "all I see" are links from reputable news sources. He links to bullshit websites like World Net Daily with regularity.

Tell you what -- you want to pretend like you're the authority on Drudge, without actually keeping track of it?

Let's keep track of it, together. I'll start a new thread, and for six months we can jointly analyze what we see on Drudge every single day.

That way, the next time you want to mix it up on a website you have almost never read, your opinions on the website will now actually carry weight.

Are you in?

Nah, you will just lie about what you see.

All I see are links to others news outlets. Can you point to something that Drudge, or a member of Drudge's staff, has actually written? HuffPo has stories that they actually write...and they all seem to lean to the left.

Wait, sorry, I just asked you a question, and I know you are allergic to those.

I initially commented on this because I just did not see what the big deal was. It is a site with links.

The fact that you consider Huffington Post to be legitimate and Drudge not continues to show you partisan colors.

Your opinion just seems silly and overblown. Everyone knows Drudge favors Republicans. Everyone knows Huffington Post and MSNBC heavily favor Democrats.

Drudge is a horrible brain washer....a good brain washer accomplishes his objectives while appearing neutral and unbiased.

If you feel that the news sources that Drudge uses are illegitimate, then set forth your proof.

The only news bias you seem to be able to see is news that leans to the right. After all, you are the one who actually said with a straight face that Rachel Maddow was a journalist, and non-biased, right?

Drudge is a filter blog. As far as I know, he doesn't author anything on his site -- never claimed he did. But that's not to say the site isn't a propaganda outlet for the Republican Party. Because it definitively is.

Huffington Post is, like its founder, definitively liberal. They are similar to Drudge in that they serve their cause above all else. The only difference I'd highlight is that HuffPo is more ideological, whereas Drudge is more partisan. But that's not a huge or important distinction to me. Like Drudge, if you use HuffPo as your key source of information, you are going to end up being misinformed and ignorant.

Surely you can agree that informing oneself is important, right?

Because relying on either one of those sources deludes yourself. You are only absorbing half the story, if not a hackish version of that half of the story. Pete's the poster boy for it.

But again, you don't understand Drudge because you don't read it.

So let's settle this.

Let's start a new thread and follow Drudge every day, together. Then we can point out the definitive partisan hackjob that website is.

Your hypocrisy shows in how your treat the Huffington Post. Your opinion would have more merit if you called them both partisan hacks...but no, Huffington Post is ideological, so they have a higher calling than the evil, demonic, Drudge.

It is just a site with links man. Your tinfoil hat conspriacy that Drudge is somehow brain washing America just sounds stupid.

But of course, you will never admit that HuffPo is a Democratic Propaganda outlet....

I haven't made any excuses for HuffPo. What are you talking about?

Alright, then let's follow it together.

In a thread specifically for it, shall we?

You made the claim. Let's expose it with evidence of 6 months' worth of sunlight.

Only claim I have made is that Drudge is a site that is a repository of links to other news sites, and that he is a conservative. Just about everyone but you seems to agree with me on that distinction.

You defend HuffPo by calling them ideological. You clearly do not see them in the same light as Drudge, and that once again shows your blatant partisanship.

You are making two claims, and I'm not sure I'm understanding:

1. That Drudge is not a Republican propaganda outlet, just a filter blog with a conservative lean.

2. That HuffPo is, in fact, a Democratic propaganda outlet.

Am I understanding you correctly?

Nope.

I have never said HuffPo is a Democratic propaganda outlet. What I have said is that if Drudge is a republican propaganda outlet by your definition, then HuffPo, by your standards, must be a democratic propaganda outlet.

But you won't admit that HuffPo is, by the standards you hold Drudge too, a democratic propaganda outlet. And that is where you hypocrisy shows though, bright as the morning sun.

Personally, I think Drudge is a conservative who links to a bunch of news story. HuffPo is similiar, although it can be argued that HuffPo is more biased, since they actually create news story in addition to just linking to liberal outlets.

M'alright.

What is the difference between a conservative news site and a Republican propaganda site?

Now, I agree with you that there is a difference. But I want to see where you choose to draw the line.

The fact that Drudge posts links to entire news stories and sites is what makes the difference. If Drudge was merely posting certain portions of articles, or certain quotes, in a manner which changed the intent and/or tone of the article, then that would be propaganda. If Drudge were posting commentaries about certain articles or quotes, declaring them to the absolute truth or some such, that would be propaganda. Drudge does not even say if the links are good or bad, they are there to be clicked on, and the reader can decide for themselves what they think.

Drudge's links also cover the entire spectrum of news sources. Far right sources are linked too, far left sources, such as MSNBC, are also linked too. I even cited a link from Drudge to a HuffPo article earlier in this thread.

Drudge has a conservative bias. Is it blatant propaganda? The evidence does not appear to support that conclusion.

Can you name a couple rightwing sources that are definitively Republican propaganda sites?

Off the top of my head, no. But I don't go running around looking for propaganda either.

Frankly, the question is not germane to the discussion as to whether or not Drudge is or is not a propaganda site.

While the HuffPo is clearly left leaning and liberal as the day is long, I would not call them a Democratic Propaganda machine. Although one could argue they are closer to that than Drudge, since they actually produce content.

Again, people should judge the individually stories on Drudge on the criteria of where they come from, and the quality of each individual site.

I think you give Drudge too much credit for what you think he does.

It looks like Direckshun is going off the rails on these final days in the DC forum. It's kind of Bonnie and Clyde style.
