Got to admit, I am a little surprised you were willing to admit it.

I think both sites are very biased, but I think they fall short of being propaganda machines.

If you classify both HuffPo and Drudge the same as propaganda outlets, then we generally agree to what they are, we just disagree as to how far on the propaganda scale they are.

You seem to see Drudge as a cult, I see them as a collection of links. The masses can decide for themselves the truth.

I disagree that Drudge is lying by omission. He presents links to news articles. The sources of said articles include right leaning (fox news), left leaning (cnn), and far left wacko sites (msnbc). Are the liberal news sites in the minority? Sure they are, but they are still cited, and the articles from them are unedited. As I pointed out earlier in the thread, there was a HuffPo link even. Again, if Drudge was editing the news stories in a manner to present a certain point of view, your argument would be much stronger. The fact that Drudge merely provides links, and from a decent variety of sources from across the political spectrum, lessen the effectiveness of your argument.

You can continue to breath fire about how evil the Drudge site is...I just think most folks around here probably think of it as I do...as a page that links to a bunch of news stories, and that typically lean to the right.

Drudge even lists links to liberal columnists, like this one for Eleanor Clift:

Here is another one. Drudge has a link to Paul Krugman's regular column:

Hardly a right wing link.

To be fair, I scanned the HuffPo site, and I did find two links to right leaning columnists...one for Peggy Noonan, and one for George Will.

Drudge, from a glance, appears to have more links to left leaning blogs, than HuffPo as to right leaning ones. But that is a casual observation based on names I recognize, and is not a scientific sample.

Can you name a single source that fits your incredibly strict definition of Republican propaganda?

A single source.

You have moved the goalposts hilariously far to get Drudge out from under the label. So far that virtually no conceivable news source falls under it.

For a given petegz28, Drudge-supplied thread topic, what difference does it make that it came from Drudge or that petegz28 lives off of Drudge? The particular topic is still a stand-alone story from what you would consider a more reputable news source. If what petegz28 does is wrong (i.e. posting stories that interest him and advance his agenda, whatever it is), then what you do is exactly the same thing (even if you draw stories from multiple sources instead of just Drudge).

Not necessarily.

But as you know (assuming you check Drudge), he offers a pallette of information that only informs you on one-side of the political spectrum. If you click over there now, you will get a smorgasbord of pro-Republican, anti-Obama information with absolutely zero counter arguments. It's misinforming by omission.

But yes, Drudge does repeatedly link to Pajamas, Daily Caller, World Net Daily, and other hack sources that are repeatedly completely wrong.
