Mitt's "free tuition" scholarship

Not sure why he would tout such a thing, considering that Rs are against a) govt involvement with anything, b) college, and c) education.
But Mitt bragged about how he promoted college education as governor:

"When I was governor of Massachusetts, to get a high school degree you had to pass an exam. If you graduated in the top quarter of your class, we gave you a John and Abigail Adams scholarship—four years tuition-free to the college of your choice in Massachusetts that's a public institution."

Sounds pretty sweet, except that in Mass., "tuition" = fees and fees = tuition.

So what he left out was that the scholarship doesn’t cover fees, which in the Massachusetts state university system are much greater than tuition. In Romney's last year as Gov. (2006), at the flagship University of Massachusetts (Amherst), a year of in-state tuition was $1714. Fees for a year--$7881.

Mitt's never fond of the details.

If the people of Massachusetts like the plan, great. If the people of any state want to borrow the idea, terrific. I didn't hear President Romney say that this ought to be a federal program.

Wow. Just perusing the tread titles on DC, it's appears the dems are getting more and desperate. Media seems to be freaking out a little as well.

Jesus Christ, dude. WTF was he supposed to say?

"As governor of Massachusetts I instituted a program where HS graduates in the top quarter of their class received free tuition at any Massachusetts public university. Now, bear in mind that this only covers tuition, not side fees like student processing, books, library fee, or anything like that. Really, it's kind of worthless when you think about it. But hey, it's a nice gesture and helps out a lot of families struggling to send kids to college... if they can afford the fees, that is."

I'm sure they got a manufactured DUI Romney had in college all lined up.

Get all your licks in now, dickhead. You got 13 days left, and it's all over for the Moonbat Messiah.

cosmo is so middle of the road that any thread about Obama is, "so what?" but this is so scandalous that he had to start a thread to cry about it.

Licks? Nah. I'm not one of those whose head has a likelihood of exploding based on the outcome of the election, so in the end...as life and the world will go on, for me. I just think it will be very entertaining to watch you RWNJ types on the day after, if Obama somehow manages re-election despite circumstances that should have meant his defeat--except that the GOP nominated the 2012 version of John Kerry.
