Herman Cain calls for Third Party
http://www.salon.com/2012/11/07/gop_...for_3rd_party/
“I never thought that I would say this, and this is the first time publicly that I’ve said it: We need a third party to save this country. Not Ron Paul and the Ron Paulites. No. We need a legitimate third party to challenge the current system that we have, because I don’t believe that the Republican Party … has the ability to rebrand itself,” Cain said. ![]() |

He's an Establishment man. I suspect he says this so the Esstablishment can marginalize the growing liberty aka Paul movement. This way they control those dissenting voices by co-opting them. The same way the Tea Party was co-opted by GOP militarists.

What a dope. We need a third party, but not the one that is rising now. We need a REPUBLICAN third party!

...Fischer, a social conservative leader, noted that he predicted this summer that if Mitt Romney loses, evangelical conservatives would start a third party. “If Barack Obama wins this election the Republican Party as we know it is finished, it is dead, it is toast,” Fischer said in September at the Values Voter Summit in Washington... Sounds like they are going for the Bible thumpers. |

I think the best thing for the R party would be if the thumpers walked away. Maybe they could take a more reasonable stance on social issues.

If you could swap out the thumpers for the Libertarians...holy shit, you'd have something there.

Damn social issues - the same shit the Dems want all conservatives fighting over to break them up while the real issues that should unite are ignored. It should fiscal conservativism first and for rest of the bullshit falls in place later. The Libertains need the "Thumpers", as it still a large group in America that will never go away even as much as the Liberals want it to.
