Official CP 2012 Presidential Election Poll

Who did you vote for? Don't worry, the poll is anonymous.

Thought it might be interesting to get a feel for the political makeup of CP. Please, no political rhetoric in this thread! There's a whole other sub-forum for that and I don't want to see this one get sent there.

That's true for Citizen's United too, which didn't hurt them in this election afterall.
Because it is the President who is able to go over the head of congress and persuade as a single entity. The power of the presidency is the power to persuade. Congress has no such animal. They are divided into several different, competing interests. It's all rhetoric, but it is a powerful tool.

That is a truly laughable statement. How many other races besides the President were won because Super Pac's sent millions to their campaign. If Citizen's United is constitutional, then the constitution needs to be changed. Money and corporations should not rule politics.

I was talking about the presidential election. Here's more on that:

Karl Rove's election debacle: Super PAC's spending was nearly for naught

They were shut out on election night. They didn't even do that well with 6 of the 8 for the Senate race.

Quote:
A study Wednesday by the Sunlight Foundation, which tracks political spending, concluded that Rove's super PAC, American Crossroads, had a success rate of just 1 percent on $103 million in attack ads -- one of the lowest "returns on investment" (ROIs) of any outside spending group in this year's elections.
