Movies

Yeah, so I saw a lot of movies this weekend.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age - Mediocre, at best. Slow and dragged on. Shorten it to 2 hours and it's golden. It's not, so it fails.

Michael Clayton - Amazing. Everything about it is awesome. However, it's VERY complex and mind bending. You have to think, so be prepared. I still feel like I'm missing key details of exactly what happened. Gotta see it again.

Across the Universe - Perfect is one word that comes to mind. It just works. And, contrary to many people I bet, the movie is best viewed sober. Trust me.

Has anybody seen Melancholia? I caught it more than halfway through. Very slow, very brooding, but I couldn't stop watching. I need to catch the whole thing sometime.

Oh, and Kirsten Dunst has a much nicer body than I imagined she did.

Caught Flight this afternoon. Solid flick. Once dramatic turn, and I thought Denzel did a good job.

With the new Denzel movie I rewatched "Inside Man", damn that was good movie. It shows Spike can be a good filmmaker if hes not trying to be too preachy.

I just watched this last night and really enjoyed it. The dialog was pretty humorous throughout. And I liked the music too. I was surprised to find out that the song at the very end was performed by the guy who played the "time travel guy", Mark Duplass.

Not sure if it's been discussed already but "Killer Joe" is a pretty sweet movie. Matthew McConaughey, Emile Hirsch, Thomas Hayden Church. Kind of a black comedy similar to Fargo but a lot darker and a lot more disturbing. The last 20 minutes or so of the movie will stick with you for a while.
