Fallout from ObamaCare
Talked to a dentist friend of mine today. He recieved notice from the Invisalign people (clear braces) thathey will add $50 to their lab fees as a result of the medical equipment tax under ObamaCare. My kid is over 30 so it wont impact me but Doc said he will pass it on as a line item as an ObamaCare tax so his clients know why the prices are going up.

Forward!!!

Only rich peoples kids get braces so it is probably a good thing right?

Your making a case for a positive right though, not a basic right. But you're right, the rich have everything better. That's just an unavoidable fact of life.

I think a more accurate way of calling access to affordable healthcare, is one has a right to get it on their own—not at someone else's expense. That's just what liberty would allow. Liberty is a natural right at least here. The latter has never been a right. Unless one is a socialist. It intrudes on someone else's natural rights.

The market can and does do a better job of delivering affordable health care. Prices on hi tech eventually come down but not when the govt interferes attempting to make it affordable. That winds up driving up costs. If the govt takes over, then you just get poorer quality, waits and lines. That is not more access. People die in govt healthcare systems, socialist healthcare systems and market systems. There's no way of achieving a perfect system.

If those idiots only knew what coverage we get. If we seek other treatments above what ObamaCare will pay for it's so damn outrageous it makes you head spin.

My doctor told me last week not to expect getting anything fixed in this ObamaCare. That there would be so much red tape to go through with the current pre existing conditions it is really mind boggling plus the list would be very long. Having to prove I need the surgeries, why now when I have had some of these issues for 17 years. Could you get by if we alleviate the pain in a different way..... ( crap, drugs are not doing this now ). I want a quality life as well, being able to move without saying ****, ***of a **** and a few other choice words.

Just got my haircut and the gal who cuts my hair says (it's a national chain) that their insurance is going through the roof now, and that BC&BS said that unless it's 50% participation they are getting dropped or something like that. Not sure what IT is, but she said the bottom line is, they are going to be forced to buy their own health insurance.

My 14 year old is getting invisaligns over Christmas break. I'll probably dodge the obama penalty on that one. Two more boys behind him, don't know yet if they will need them but if so I'll look forward to obama adding to what is already a hefty bill.
