Just realized something. It's going to be really hard for the Big 12 to add a member because nobody is going to want to sign the GOR. They may still do it, but it complicates things.

The PAC 12 and Big 10 both have long GOR's. Its not some strange, unfamiliar, alien thing, Maryland will have to sign a long-ass GOR that takes them out through 2032.

The PAC isn't adding teams, and the B1G has a massively profitable network. Having a team come in from the outside and sign away rights to a conference that has let Texas have its own network which effectively prevents the Big 12 from having a network could be a tough sell.
