Why people laugh at Creationists

Taking a lead from Killer Clown I thought I'd create a alternative thread to post some videos I like...

[EDIT New video here]

So on with the show:

Here's the Kent Hovind Theory:

"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books.
Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.
Do not believe in traditions simply because they have been handed down for many generations.
But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it."

Um ok.

This seems to me to be a semi-rational thread to discuss religion or lack thereof. Is one thread on anti-religion too much? How about we only have one thread on anti-Obama stuff as well.

Fair enough?
Have the thread and post what you want in it. It doesn't mean my point isn't valid. Atheists here are much more aggressive about pushing their beliefs on others than the other side is.
It's just kind of funny because it's a lot of the same people that complain that religious types are shoving their beliefs down other people's throats.
And this isn't the only ant-religion thread. They're started fairly regularly.

Why does it bother you? If you feel it's misinformation, then refute it. If you have a different opinion then post it. Otherwise, you're simply whining for no reason.

Well I for one will never support any Ant religion but thats just me.

So do you really think the Atheists here are any more pushy than the political wanks in here? Seriously? And why does religion get a pass? Why can't it be discussed in the same way as politics other than believers being butthurt about it.

Why does religion get a special pleading here. Is it the new "political correctness" Rip Obama, rip everyone for any political thoughts but religion no thats off limits.

Why?

If those who follow different beliefs would just be content with the wonderful discovery they think they have discovered and would just shut the **** up and cash in on the deal and leave the rest of us alone the subject would never and I mean ever come up. However that is not possible because they will not be happy until EVERYONE believes as they do. If they do not you threaten eternal torture for ETERNITY. The three monotheism's are based from the semi literate writings from bronze age Persia some of us find that suspect.

Stop insisting on some type of special treatment, stop trying to teach this nonsense to our kids in school unless you are willing to teach all religious beliefs in school. I am way past hearing the I am offended bullshit. Guess what your beliefs offend me. I am agnostic because I have put forth a dutiful effort into researching this subject. I see no evidence to conclude there is no god, however there is zero evidence one exists. When someone makes extraordinary claims they should have extraordinary evidence you do not~

...blaise speaks the truth.

ever wonder why you and others usually can't go more than a week or two without posting the same thing over and over?

it's like the arabstinians constantly blaming Israel for their actions.

I don't give a shit what others believe in. I've never tried to convince anybody or preach. But I do like to poke fun at religion because it's pretty ridiculous and humorous to point it out.

Hey if you don't like it stay off the Internet.

The religious discussions are 100 times less than the political ones. Tough shit. Take your butt hurt to another thread.
