Why people laugh at Creationists

Taking a lead from Killer Clown I thought I'd create a alternative thread to post some videos I like...

[EDIT New video here]

So on with the show:

Here's the Kent Hovind Theory:

"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books.
Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.
Do not believe in traditions simply because they have been handed down for many generations.
But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it."

I will repeat when those of you who claim to not only know there is a god and claim to know his thoughts with zero evidence I might add, drop the subject it will be the end of the discussion. Stop demanding special privilege as in teaching our kids your beliefs in school and falsely claiming the beliefs chosen for you by your parents is the only option and threatening torture for entirety to anyone who disagrees and I assure those of us who are offended by this will go on with our lives never mentioning the subject again. By the way all of the monotheism's claim the afterlife is wonderful and no person who ever goes there would not return if given the choice. Do all of us that find life a wonderful gift a favor, don't end our world due to your fixation with death and meeting your god. Proceed, meet him just don't drag the rest of us into your desires~

One more question bro...when was the last time someone from your side posted something new or different? New material is not your strong suit in the discussion~

He's coming around to a lot of things evidently..

Of the many roles Pat Robertson has assumed over his five-decade-long career as an evangelical leader including presidential candidate and provocative voice of the right wing his newest guise may perhaps surprise his followers the most: marijuana legalization advocate.

I really believe we should treat marijuana the way we treat beverage alcohol, Mr. Robertson said in an interview on Wednesday. Ive never used marijuana and I dont intend to, but its just one of those things that I think: this war on drugs just hasnt succeeded.

As an agnostic who is willing to enter into the arena of discussion I find that statement rather rich. Talking with people, many who have not even read the books they defend or studied the history of how they were chosen threatening me with eternal pain and anguish for not agreeing with them is pretty smug~

Why does religion get a special pleading here. Is it the new "political correctness" Rip Obama, rip everyone for any political thoughts but religion no thats off limits.

Why?

I don't remember saying you had to stop, Dave.

Dave, if you want to make anti religion threads that's fine. Make 20, for all I care. I'm just pointing out that generally, in this forum, the atheist crowd is more vocal about promoting their beliefs than the religious crowd. In my opinion, anyway.
I don't see why that would bother you, really. Do you disagree? Because I see you and Go Chiefs and one or two others start threads about religious hypocrisy or the fallacy or religion fairly often. It's not like people often start threads saying, "God is great and this is why non believers are wrong."
I guess I shouldn't have used the word, "screech" but I'm not sorry for pointing out what I perceive to be true. I also believe that the atheists here (some) use more disrespectful language towards those that have different religious beliefs than the other way around. If you read the comments of some of the people here every Christian is a kook, nut job, and deserves to be ridiculed.

You can say you have your reasons for starting the threads, or regularly engaging in the anti-religion dialogue, but I don't see why me saying atheists here are more active equates to, "butt hurt." I think it's a reasonable observation.

Well if you hadn't commented on it so many times I would agree. And I don't disagree anyway.

When the Democrats are in office you don't see them starting a bunch of threads defending their guy. You see a ton of threads from the other side bashing the guy. When Bush was in office it was the other way around.

Maybe you don't see it because you don't care or don't notice, but the christian thing is literally everywhere. On money, a church every 50 feet, xmas decorations, songs, god bless you, literally its woven into the very fabric of American society on every level you can imagine.

Throw in the roving bands of door ringers and candidates trying to teach our kids that the earth is 6,000 years old or that science doesn't know anything, or evolution is wrong and you are damned right I'm going to speak up.

You want to go in your house and pray and get together at your church and do something useful like sell it and feed the poor then great I'll never speak ill of that person. But when you lie to the public and you see what it has done to someone like Killer Clown and you say its not harmful, I say bullcrap.
