There are no roving bands of Atheists going door to door. There barely is a PAC or other interest group doing any work for the "movement". Contrast that to the huge machinations of the religious right and this is really the only voice the Atheists have, the Internet, the place religions go to die.

The interesting thing is that Atheists are currently up to about 16% of the population. This is the fastest growing minority in the US. It larger that the Gays, the Jews and blacks and yet it has virtually no voice in public policy.

The only butt hurt I see from you is that you aren't equally calling out the republicans for being more vocal about their beliefs than democrats. Religion should not get special treatment in the forum and the fact there are more anti-religious threads / posts than there are religious ones in the forum is to be expected.

Again I appreciate your views as well thought out and you as a poster. Maybe we are just cross threaded here.

As a general aside I will say that the loss of Sportsnut, LVNHACK and Chiefaroo has cut a lot of extra thread creation down

So if you agree, then I don't see why you have a problem with me stating it.

It's not like I said you need to stop or that it was inappropriate. I never said religion should get special treatment. I'm just pointing out what I perceive to be true- that atheists here are more vocal, and generally, less respectful.

I basically agree, not 100%, but no great argument from me. I do think we are cross-threaded on the matter but close enough.

I have interpreted your comments to believe you were making the argument that Atheists "were meanies" and being disrespectful to other posters simply because religion had a special place above politics or other discourse.

How can anybody in their right mind believe Revelation 6:13 when it claims the stars will "fall" to earth? That makes no sense at all.... our earth is an insignificant micro-speck compared to the mass of the universe. How is it possible for approximately 300,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (300 sextillion) stars having an approximate mass of 3 × 10 to the 55 kg "fall" distances up to 93 billion light-years to earth? How can the miniscule micro-mass of this tiny planet have such an unimaginably monstrous "pull" on that much mass from all that distance? I understand that the Bilble is the Infallible Word of God, but is there anyone on earth that can explain that Infallible Fact?

I've stumbled across a possible meaning that is much deeper and more poetic:

AR 333. Verse 13. And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, signifies the dispersion of all the knowledges of good and truth. That "stars" signify the knowledges of good and truth, may be seen in (n. 51); that "to fall from heaven to earth" means to be dispersed, is evident; in the spiritual world, also, stars appear to fall from heaven to the earth there, when the knowledges of good and truth perish.


AR 334. Even as a fig-tree casteth her unripe figs, when shaken by a great wind, signifies by reasonings of the natural man separated from the spiritual.
