Why people laugh at Creationists

Taking a lead from Killer Clown I thought I'd create a alternative thread to post some videos I like...

[EDIT New video here]

So on with the show:

Here's the Kent Hovind Theory:

"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books.
Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.
Do not believe in traditions simply because they have been handed down for many generations.
But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it."

what about your life outside of your daughter?

Why do people need faith/belief in a higher power?

How does that fail to answer your question? You asked why my life had purpose. Why would you not accept my answer?

Can we quit beating around the bush and have you re-ask the question the way you meant... "How can my life have purpose without a God?" I think that's how you're trying to steer this questioning anyway, which your potential analogy regarding "A loving father"...

I can answer that my life even outside of my daughter has a great deal of purpose, albeit from different sources than others find it. One can give unlimited love and compassion without needing an omnipotent God to attribute it to. To care for others, and to love, and to share your life with good people, all of these things are done every day by believers and atheists alike. Having a differing opinion on religion doesn't change your ability to love and be awed by the wonders of life. Apple pie tastes the same to the man who believes God made the world in 6 days, and the man who says "There is no such thing".

I am now going to start my own denomination over whether the last book of the New Testament should be called "Revelation" or "Revelations" then. We will be called The Revelationsists.

I asked you why life has purpose...you've pretty much told me how.

....my analogy only points to you imitating God, because you are created in his image, likeness...

....one can give unlimited love and compassion. doesn't mean those things originated with you....of all the things God created, the one thing he said wasn't good, was for man to be alone....we were created to be in loving relationships....sorry Dave.()

and let's be honest here...i thought the comment made in the OP about why there has to be a purpose.was funny...and disagreed with it... you responded with an absolute of Divine creation has no purpose...the God complex belongs to you.

Nah, you would have plenty of company in hell. Trouble is no one seems to have access to the ice water.
