If you are Christian and you make it about Jesus, then it's about Jesus.

If you are a secular American, it's about buying stuff, eating, and family.

If you are a ______ then it's about ______.

Why is everyone so caught up about what other people do these days? Who the F cares?

It's a game that has to be played by those who wish to influence the behavior of others. It's hard to drag around that "holier than thou" attitude unless you can dig up a few thous to look down upon. With love of course. You have to shake your head and look down your nose at the people who just don't get it, and wistfully hope that someday they might be as devout as you.

Nah. I just think that living under the fear of eternal damnation doesn't equal morality. I guess you need to constantly be threatened with torture in order to be a good person. You've walked around with an invisible holy pistol aimed at your skull, and it shows in your lack of reason when dealing with religious topics. I believe that a true test of character is how you act when no one's looking. If you need to believe that someone is always looking so you can behave...well, whatever works for you I guess.
