Same goes for "fire Pioli".

Sounds to me that by your logic, we shouldn't be flying any banners. They're all useless.

None of that makes a bit of sense.

I think you guys just want to emphasize that you want change. I think option number 2 gets your point across without sounding too demanding.

It's time to lay it all on the line because after this SOC desolves and donates the leftover cash to charity. So say it bluntly with the 1st choice.

You can't be that naive.

There is a world of difference between "hurting Clark's feelings" and flat out insulting his pride.

Let's not forget that Clark is still a Type A personality with a sizeable ****-off streak. A lot of us on this very board are very similar creatures. If you start preaching at us, we're going to dig in and tell you to get bent.

Would it be a wise decision for Clark to make? No, not at all, but don't think proud men don't make foolish decisions all the time when they have been called out.

Honestly, if you believe the banners in a vacuum are making Clark's decisions for him, then I think you're running a 50/50 gamble on whether or not they push him over the edge or have him dig in his heels.

I personally don't believe the banners are making a difference in a vacuum. Rather I believe the support they are rallying from the press and public is what has truly made the difference. As such, you need to remember your audience and continue to work forward with that in mind.

And most of that audience would rather sign Alex Smith than draft Geno Smith.

If "draft a QB" is going to hurt Clark's pride, we hurt his pride with the VERY FIRST BANNER.

The damage is done. Might as well donate the money to charity and move on.

Again - it isn't the banner that is doing the legwork. The banner is a rallying cry for the public to get behind. It's the public that's doing the damage here.

Patteeu is right - this isn't a front office that's parsing our words like lawyers in an attempt to give us what we, the banner demons, want. That has never been the purpose this banner has served.

It's purpose has been as a lightning rod for the public. It's used a deft touch in delivering a message without alienating the masses.

Once we become a big !@#$ing Mel Kiper in the sky, the masses are going to be more turned off by it.

Keep the public on our side here and the way to do that is through focusing on the 'hope' aspect of it and not the demands.

A good portion of the public wasn't on our side the instant we SAID ANYTHING to criticize the Chiefs.

This idea that "draft a QB" divides the fanbase but "fire Pioli" doesn't is pure unadulterated bullshit.
