He is not a better prospect than Griffin. If you are right, teams will be throwing first round picks at the team with the #1 spot in the draft for Smith. It isn't going to happen.

And I've already put out why multiple times.

If you are saying he isn't, then you make the case why, because you just saying it doesn't make it so.

And no one was throwing out multiple picks for Griffin at this point last year. The Griffin frenzy was just starting to pick up steam when he received the Heisman and built to a crescendo at the Combine. Same thing with Cam Newton. (And that guy had a dog shit combine - I've never seen a QB throw that poorly in a structured setting than that, but again, you can't necessarily predict that that means anything. The guy is a gamer and shows up on the field.)

Sorry, but because the ****ing stupid Washington Redskins pissed away three first rounders on Griffin isn't the sole measuring stick of why he was a better prospect than Smith. (And remember, the Redskins gave Albert Haynesworth 100 million dollars. Their decision making in football hasn't been the best.)

You'll have to do better than that to convince me otherwise.

And since I didn't like Flacco in that draft, I wouldn't have taken ahead of Lewis even then.

Also, Smith is not a taller, slower Gabbert.

He's shorter and faster, and more athletic.

But's let's look at things from a different perspective.

I disagree with your opinion on Teo, and you disagree with my opinion on Smith, who I have compared to Aaron Rodgers.

But for the sake of a civil debate, I'll assume that Teo's upside is Ray Lewis if you will assume that Smith's is Rodgers.

Based on that, would you take Teo over Smith?

All I care about is if he can coach players on technique and coordinate a scheme. It also didn't help that aj Smith was embarrassingly bad at destruction the offensive talent on that roster.

First, it isn't just the skins. Every draft expert believed he was an elite prospect. Some even wondered if he would go ahead of luck. Multiple teams were making offers for aggressive trade up. Don't act like the skins were some crazy team going Rogue. Rgiii was a consensus blue chip prospect.

And again, their passing skill sets are similar. Geno is probably more polished in the pocket. But Rgiii ability to also be an elite athlete adds a whole dimension to his gMe that Geno does not have. And yes, I view Rgiii as a Pocket passer who can use his legs as a weapon only as needed.

Griffin was a third/fourth round halfback/slot receiver to start the 2011 season. He was definitely not a blue chip QB prospect until the Heisman vote to the combine.

The problem with Griffin is that he is a quarterback with a big arm who relies his legs far too often. He doesn't have any experience other than what you have seen this year in a true pro style set and is relying on his athleticism to bail him out of tight situations versus remaining in the pocket and finding that receiver downfield. Concussion earlier this season ring a bell? How about the knee that got snapped over Ngata because the guy went head first instead of sliding?

Kid's going to get killed if he doesn't change his game.

Mike Vick never played a full NFL season. Neither has Robert Griffin.

And Griffin is most likely the most athletic quarterback in the NFL. He's got another dimension that guys like Peyton Manning and Tom Brady don't have. You taking him over those guys because he can run faster than any QB in the NFL?

Geno Smith has the best pocket presence I've seen at the college level in a long, long time. Eyes downfield all the time and he's looking to find that receiver versus looking to take off and run for a couple.

Look, I like Griffin a ton. But I don't like his current game. He's going to end up broken. Badly. When the Redskins are trotting out Kirk Cousins at QB instead of Bobby because he's on the bench with an injury that was caused by his "elite athletic skills", ask them if those extra three first round picks make sense then.

Completely untrue. I and others have posted links where in early November he was the 12th rated prospect and he climbed steadily into a top pick by early December.

If Geno was as good as you think every single media entity would be hying him up like Luck. The real scouts aren't as enamored with him as you are which is why you are seeing constant reports about no QB at the top spot right now.

Not in December 2011 they didn't.

Todd McShay had him going at the END of the 1st round in his December mock draft last year.

EDIT: In McShay's January mock draft, he had Griffin going 7th.

There are some parallels between Smith and Griffin. I would say Griffin is clearly more gifted athletically, but I don't think Smith is all that far behind as a quarterback prospect, and as I've said before I would not be surprised if he's suddenly the flavor of the month by March, once the bowl season, combine and workouts are over.
