2012 Gambling Challenge - Week 16

The betting windows are open for Week 16 wagering.

There is one game on Saturday, so get your bets in!

PLEASE read the rules here. The number one rule you need to remember is that editing your bets is not allowed and is subject to immediate disqualification.

Also, remember that you must place a wager every 3 weeks at minimum. If you go without betting for 3 consecutive weeks, you will be disqualified.

KCFalcon59 and Pestilence must bet this week or be disqualified.

How to read the lines

Sample line

Thu 9/6 New Orleans Saints +6 +223 OVER 52.5
(Date, VISITING TEAM: Point Spread, Money Line, Over/Under)
7:30 PM Indianapolis Colts -6 -243 UNDER 52.5

(Time, HOME TEAM: Point Spread, Money Line, Over/Under)

How to bet the Money Line

Sample line
SAINTS +223
COLTS -243

First off, a money bet is a straight up win/lose bet. No points involved, so of course there are odds payoffs.

If you want to bet on the Saints, you will win $223 for every $100 that you bet. Conversely, for the Colts, you will win $100 for every $243 that you bet.

In other words, the team with the - money line is the favorite (therefore lower payout) and the team with the + is the under dog.

Placing Bets

PLEASE
, format your bets like this:

Colts (-6) $5000
Chiefs (+142 money) $1000
Chiefs/Texans (Under 38) $2000

If the Seahawks win and go over 39, I'll be within 9000 of what Shitgoose started at this week. I'm not sure how well or poorly he is doing.

By my calculations he's down 4500 and has the over in the Seattle/San Fran game. I'm up 32.6k and also have the over.

Well there's the over, and I'm pretty sure Seattle is a lock to cover.

Nice day of betting, except DaKCMan decided to have incredible weeks out of nowhere.

Thanks. I'll have the lead for a week and then lose it.

So...does this actually go into the playoffs or is it just regular season?

I've usually been eliminated by the 3rd week so I've never followed it.

By my calculations (I'm not sure if I'm doing it right)...

DaKCManAP - $93,156 ($37,132 won this week)
Buck - $78,875 ($28,150 won this week)
shitgoose - $77,234 ($10,211 lost this week)
banyon - $60,302 ($10,539 won this week)
BigRedChief - $46,056 ($3,018 lost this week)

Nobody else was within $50,000 of the lead to start this week, so I didn't bother.

I almost didn't bet today because I thought that I was out of it, thinking it ended next week. Glad I didn't.
