The universe has always existed. See the equation E=MC2. Take out of it this, mass can be 3 different things. Energy is what the universe was before it formed. There are undoubtedly 100's of other universes, probably billions.
Yes but before the big bang there was something. I prefer to believe there was energy and it coalesced into the matter that exists today. Makes no real difference as we KNOW the big bang happened what was before that is just interesting speculation.

You don't care about Piers Morgan yet you feel the need to complain about things he does. Is there anything that you don't care about that you actually about? That's the more rational course if you don't care about something. |

We've discussed this before....you go back far enough into the equation and I see no other explanation other than a smart source started all of it. |

Here Carl Sagan, my own personal god , states it far more eloquently than I ever could.

Well, addressing the video, which I watched about a third of, I'd have to say if God thinks a mass killing of innocent people will reaffirm his existance and bring people closer to him vs. the opposite I'd say his strategy is flawed. Having said that, I think it's ridiculous for anyone to make such commentary; what an idiot. I've never heard of the guy; hope this gets him plenty of exposure and sends him packing back into the traveling salvation shows.

OK, that's what I was thinking you meant but I wanted to be sure. I don't see why it necessarily follows that at some point in time a being like that had to have existed based on what we have observed so far.

I agree man has tried to explain this question by creating 'god', and it is probably an over simplistic definition. I just can't get buy into the idea all we view as reality is by chance, i.e. random atoms reacting to each other. |

No, not in this narrative, I don't think he does. He asks why one would have to necessarily believe in a creator when dealing with the unknown. He also says that cosmology can bring up issues that were once only considered in religion and/or myth.

Sure. I think Carl Sagan does a really good job of starting with "I don't know" and going on from there.
