I can follow that but dark matter’s existence hinges upon the gravitational effect on visible matter doesn’t it? And, if there was no visible matter before the Big bang then it doesn't follow although I don't disagree, I think that sounds more reasonable than saying there was real nothingness period.

To address your last few remarks though, a religious book is a religious book as is a science book is a science book they are no different, one from the other, or one to the other. No difference at all. They are words written by humans.

If you truly believe that energy ( in whatever form) has always existed, cannot be created or destroyed, exists in everything and all things then you’ve just described God my friend. The claim’s exactly the same and no more preposterous than your belief that dark matter has eternal existence from which the Big Bang happened. We are actually a lot closer to agreeing and believing the same thing, and that will make you more uncomfortable than me.

For you to purport God’s contortions (and we won’t visit the 13.7 billion years right now. That’s for another time) happened and eventually evolved humans on a speck of nothing is more what you believe than I. Just change “god” to ‘energy” and it is just as mind boggling and outrageous an event. Energy and God, enigmas. Imagine that.

The faith/science you have that a chair will hold you when you sit down is the same faith/science I have in God only mine will never fail and yes, He truly is amazing!

Dark matter's existence doesn't "Hinge" upon the gravitational effect on visible matter. That's simply one method we use to detect it, by the gravitational effect that dark matter has on the visible matter we can see. Despite the fact that we can't see it, we know it's there because we can see how other objects are effected by its mass. And dark matter has a lot of mass. Around 80% of the mass in the universe actually. What we can visibly see only accounts for a little over 20% of the universe's mass. That's because we humans can only see a very very small fraction of the spectrum. So knowing our limitations on what we can "See", we can't even begin to say that existence depends on us being able to see it.

Saying a religious book and a science book are no different is incredibly absurd. I don't even know how to approach that if you really feel that way. Not to mention, you just equated the bible with a 5 week study on toenail fungus. Suffice to say that one is based on direct observation and repeatable experimentation. And the other is based on 2000 year old writings, whose content has been edited repeatedly throughout history by a wide array of different religious institutions. They are both words written by humans. But that silly simplicity is where the comparisons end.

Comparing God to energy is similarly lacking. Unless you are trying to reduce God to a non sentient non omnipotent being. Which could definitely be argued, but I'm fairly certain that wasn't your intent since you also describe God with having sentient attributes. We have countless methods for detecting and defining energy that are repeatable and proven. But there are no methods for doing the same for a Christian God. Again, you're trying to greatly oversimplify to make a point, and that doesn't work.

Energy is not an enigma. Again, we know a great deal about energy, and how it works, and how to detect it and measure it. Which is the opposite of our understanding of a supernatural being of which there has never been any evidence for.

I have faith in the chair I'm sitting on, because I can see the chair. I can apply pressure to the chair, and feel it resist my pressure. I can test the weight capacity of the chair, and determine exactly how much weight it can hold. Then I can get another chair, and experiment again, to add additional validity to my observations. If someone doesn't believe my chair weight observations, I can give them the chair, and let them test it for themselves. And you're trying to tell me that there's no difference between that and your personal belief of a God?
