I live the easy life now. I don't feel guilty being human and I plan to enjoy this life to the fullest because it's the only one I'm guaranteed. I'd rather not live thinking lesser of this world because I expect a utopia promised by earlier less knowledgable civilizations.

If there really is "a better existence for eternity", then why the **** can't you, me, Fish, Bump, or any other of the billions of people on this planet have that right now, this very second? I have to earn it, you might say? Well, then I would say that God sounds like a masochistic prick, not to mention not all that omniscient, considering how he "made me" and all.


It's the hook of any religion to promise those with nothing, or those that feel like they are or have nothing, that they can have it all, if you just follow our rules. And if you don't follw the rules, you will suffer for all eternity.

Explain to me how that isn't manipulative.

Please take a look at the region where your beliefs were born. It is also the same area where all three of the main monotheisms were born. These people are still greatly tribal driven. They are superstitious and are among the least developed populations in the world. Illiteracy is still prevalent and one can only imagine how few could actually read at the time these books were written. Then take the time to review how the books were chosen and how many books were dismissed. Then look at the countless revisions and flat out forgeries in the books you hold in such high value. Check out very recent additions of the immaculate conception and the assumption. You talk with total confidence and that is fine but understand I have looked into this subject and I am unimpressed with your arrogance, and I left out Hovind which the fact you listen to this clown alone puts your creditability in question to begin with if not desroying it completely~

I'll say this - I'm more open to the idea of a higher being/power/collective/whatever than how I feel about organized religion. But even saying that I feel like the thought of an all knowing, all powerful being staring down at me through the cosmos has as much believability as (insert any mythological event/creature) had of actually existing. It's the SAME THING.
