Wrong. Hali and Houston are both already big enough to play 4-3 end. Houston is 270 pounds. Hali is the same size he was when he played end.

Poe might honestly be a lot better in a 4-3 because you're placing a LOT less pressure on him than the NT position asks. Shit, he didn't even play NT in college.

Poe belongs in a 3-4. His value is that he can play the nose and could become incredibly valuable because he's one of the rare nose tackles that can potentially play across the line in no huddle situations.

You've got 3 of your 4 guys who are probably going to be much better in a 3-4. So why force a scheme onto them instead of making the scheme adjust to the players? Especially for a head coach who doesn't really know what he's doing on defense.

Tamba had 8 sacks in the 4-3 and Justin Houston is 260 pounds. Plenty big for a 4-3 DE.

I'm not saying they're not going to be good in a 4-3. I'm saying considering how good they are in a 3-4, it's highly unlikely that they can go anywhere but down. Hali can play end, but in that role he was an 8-sack guy and a guy who had trouble shedding blocks in the run game -- remember, he has T-Rex size arms. Houston is one of many DEs to come out of college who can survive as a speed rusher, but wasn't heavy enough to be a guy who can continually win in trench warfare. And don't forget that if they play every down with their hands down, even though both these guys are tremendous at rushing the passer even with their hands off, so you're limiting what they can do.

We have two tremendous players. If it aren't broke, don't fix it. BUild around your good players .
