Hypothetical established players for #1 pick

This is not intended to be a realistic thread.

I want to know what players already in the NFL you would trade the #1 pick for. They can be QB's, RB's, DT's, OL, punters...whatever.

I'll start with some non-QB's:

Calvin Johnson
A.J. Green
Von Miller
J.J. Watt

No, but if Luck were available at 2 I might reconsider. I don't think RGIII will last as long as Bradford will in the league. I also thought it was a great return and bodes well for the future as the Rams went through the worst 5 year stretch in NFL history. 1 player won't solve the entire team's issues.

You are lying to yourself. So far, Bradford looks like jag.

Sorry.

Then why were the Colts and Redskins so terrible last year and in the playoffs this year?

The Rams would have won at least 11 games with Luck or RG3 this year, IMO. Their defense is awesome.

If a guy was sacked 30 consecutive games, went to a team that had 6 wins the 3 seasons prior to when he was drafted, went through 3 OCs in 3 season, you'd still give him a chance, wouldn't you?

Bradford is like Cassel.

He isn't good but his defenders will continue to fall back on how the team around him isn't perfect.

Meanwhile, you've got 3 rookies in the playoffs this year and 1 QB in his first half year of starting in his 2nd season.

Outside of QB, I would not trade the #1 overal for any other position.

Great players at any other position are just cogs, outstanding cogs to be sure, but just cogs, nonetheless.

If you don't have a QB, you are wasting your time.
Best post in this thread.

You're very unlikely to ever win a SB if you don't have let's say a top 8 QB.

It's all about getting that elite QB IMO.

So I'd trade the pick only for Brady, Rodgers, Brees, Luck, Griffin, Roethlisberger ...

Redskins have more offensive weapons than the Rams do, Colts were beneficial of a weak ass schedule(3rd weakest in the NFL). Plus, neither went 15-65 over a 5 year stretch.
