Chiefs Late Night Bullshit: Defensive Coordinators - Page 6

I've heard lots of names thrown out there for offensive coordinators...but when it comes down to Reid's most important coaching hire, I haven't heard much.

I was hoping on the Rivera angle for awhile, but now that is off the table and his defensive staff was a joke (moving a good offensive line coach to dc) so there isn't much to try and pluck away that could be considered a good hire...

Who are some of the guys that make sense as our DC?

Darren Perry has been in both Pittsburgh and Green Bay but I'm not sure he is quite ready yet.

True. Why is Kevin Green so popular? Without Mathews the Packers pass rush became weak.

It's perception vs reality. I have no clue but he coaches ILB's in Capers 34. IIRC he was mostly a 43 as a player. I know he hasn't necessarily interviewed all that well for HC openings and was passed by McKenzie in Oakland. Dorsey would have a good viewpoint to him and Perry.

Herring and Tomsula are much better in the fact they have more time in the 34 than a guy like Moss. Perry is too much of an unknown but throwing his name out there.

Greg Manusky is another that has experience in it. Under Phillips too. I just don't know about him either though

That's a good list. I personally would rather they didn't go back to a 43. I would be pretty happy with Herring or Leavitt. Herring has had to deal with a lot of injuries at LB recently for HOU, most notably Cushing as mentioned. Maybe Tomsula could get some value out of our damn Dline, same with Kollar. Don't know much about Richard or Seto.

My guess would be Greene has a better chance of being taken then the guys on that list. Assuming Horton doesn't get fired.

if that team was smart (they are not) they would just promote Horton. He's literally the best of the worst candidates left for a HC. There are more vacancies than there is decent candidates.

It coming... the 4-3, just watch (I know many won't like the idea)! Sounds like the 4-3 under which the likes of Dick Jauron, Monte Kiffin or anyone from Seattle runs. The 4-3 under is actually very similar to the 3-4 in many ways and personnel is interchangeable.
