One of the saddest examples of how far our media has fallen

Generally speaking I don't watch the news and I can't stand any of the major outlets. I am particularly anti places like MSNBC or Foxnews that have no objectivity. But this style of reporting should revolt everyone.

What happened to our news being objective analysis instead of blatant marketing for whatever idea a particular reporter wants to push???? I guess being objective is too boring and no one would want to watch...

So here's the highlight important bits
  • Intruder breaks into house
  • Women takes two children and retreats through THREE LOCKED doors and up into a crawlspace
  • Intruder hears someone in house, breaks through THREE LOCKED doors and opens crawlspace.
  • Woman shoots intruder when she has nowhere else to go

and the USAtoday seems to think that the point they should lead with and bold is.....

The man pleaded for her to stop, but she kept firing until she emptied her rounds

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/n...ruder/1821905/

Honestly do you think the media was intending to tell the facts of the story, or to build public opinion that what she did was wrong???

W
T
F

I'm not personally a big self defense fan because I don't personally believe I could shoot someone except in the most extreme of cases. But damn I'm amazed at what this women did, she likely has little training and completely panicked and yet she still hit 5 of 6 shoots. Considering I believe police hit < 20% of shots fired on average that's amazing. She's either one hell of a shot or he was REALLY REALLY close. The simple reality is that I think in that situation the vast majority of people would be so scared that no matter what the guy says almost everyone is going to be pulling that trigger until they hit and empty chamber. It's not evil intent, it's unbridled panic.

Un ****ing believable by the media.....

She had the upper hand? The guy wasn't stopped. He was able to walk out of the house. He could have used his tools he broke in with to hit the woman or children if he hadn't left. Just stop shooting a guy who is still able to move freely towards you. You shoot until the guy isn't a threat anymore. Someone with tools to break into your home, who actively sought you out by breaking through multiple locked doors was still able to walk away and drive off after being shot. After those 5 rounds he was still a threat. He wasn't a threat until he fell over dead, became unconscious from blood loss,or left the area. He left, she didn't shoot him in the back on his way out, and you just want her to shoot once and stop because she "clearly gained the upper hand"? You're insane.

If you can't see the major network executives are working w/ govt to ban guns from the American people than you're a blind sheep. Shit even Fox News is even calling for more gun control.

You break into a house obstensibly to commit a robber, and then break through multiple doors in pursuit of its occupants? That's indicative of something much more sinister, and anyone confronted with that situation should be able to do precisely what this lady did.

Yeah, she should have given him an opportunity to get a weapon out of his pocket or waistband or something, and put herself and the lives of her children at risk.
After all, he pleaded.

Or rape or bludgeon her. Such posts saying otherwise, I noticed, are from posters who think assisting someone in suicide or mercy killing is okay though.

**** him. If he was just there to steal, and knew they were hidden away, he could have simply looted valuables and got away. Instead, he went straight after his intended victim. Oops! The only bad thing is that the ****ing animal survived - hopefully he'll die in the hospital.

Nice hatchet job by another liberal rag.

He took 5 shots to the face and body then got in his SUV and drove away?
This is why I’m a fan of the .45 ACP. You put a 230 grain JHP in someone’s face and they aren’t getting up from that.

This, wish the basterd had been killed. Now he is wasting tax payer money in the hospital. People who break into others homes know the risk they it may be the last stupid thing they ever do.

I have no issues what so ever with her actions. I think she went above and beyond to keep herself and her children safe and am suspicious of what the intruder had in mind beyond robbery.

Here's an idea, don't break into other people’s homes and your odds of getting your sorry ass Winchesterd are greatly diminished.
