Hey Direckshun and Literature, how about letting sportshrink off the hook on your election bets so he can come back to the forum. Maybe let him back just in time for the inauguration or something. He's been a good sport and lived up to his bet AFAIK.

Pat's long been one of my favorite posters and best DC friends, he's always been a certain percentage of conserva-troll and genuine conservative advocate. That percentage has always fluctuated depending on the times.

During the healthcare debate, for instance, he was about 95% genuine, 5% troll.

By the final months of the election, and honestly ever since, he's probably reversed those percentages. I was wondering if/when he'd flip back, but it's a sad day for those of us around here if he's honestly considering leaving.

That said, if he's asking for Direckshun-assisted suicide (see what I did there), well... I gotta be a buddy.

It could be clever gamesmanship by patty, too.

I won't lift the ban on SS, but I'd be far more likely to lift a ban on patty, and there'd be far more pressure from DC for me to do so. So if patty can do the switcheroo, eventually whenever it is I break and miss patty enough to let him back on, both patty and SS will be active posters again, mission accomplished.

I could have some fun with this.

I don't think bets of this nature are generally productive. There would have been more entertainment value in watching Shrink eat his words immediately after the election. Anyway, you're the only poster I've seen lobbying for his return and this isn't the first time you've done it. I happen to think that the forum is better without him. I didn't realize that the ban was indefinite, assuming it was for a year. Perhaps reducing the sentence, or adopting a parole board of sorts, would help solve the issue.
