NFL Network's list of Joe Montana's greatest games.

They listed two of his ten greatest games as being in a Chiefs uniform, which was kind of cool, but it may not be the two you would expect.

First, his Monday night noogie of Elway didn't make their list. I was all like "What?" That's been discussed as perhaps the best Monday Night game ever, and one of the best game endings ever, but it didn't make the list.

The #9 greatest game was the 1993 playoff win over Houston. I didn't recall, but Houston had won 11 straight games coming into that week, and it wasn't just their offense. Buddy Ryan was the coach, and their defense was really strong. If you recall, we were behind and came back to win that game.

As another bit of trivia on that #9 game, they showed a closeup of Montana's throwing elbow. Holy cow. It had a really big and nasty surgery scar, and it was all swollen and gnarly like some sort of swamp tree. It looked like it would've been quite painful.

Another key missing game was his 1993 playoff win over the Steelers. The guy made a fourth down touchdown pass to win the game in the playoffs, and it doesn't make the list? Wow.

The #3 greatest game you might guess, though they put it on the list more for being meaningful than for being a great Montana game. It was the game against the 49ers where Steve Young came in and got beaten mercilessly by the Chiefs during a big victory.

Any thoughts? I'm still kind of shocked that the Monday Night game wasn't on there.

The NFL Network still thinks Ferentz is going to be the Chiefs HC.

I think this is the game where one of our defensive players took about 3 more steps after Young threw the ball and just absolutely blew his azz up. Knocked him out of the game... I worked with an obnoxious bandwagon 49er fan at the time and man did I have a good time with him for about 6 months after that game.

I'm sure many of us have seen this over and over but this is a classic forever burned into Chief fans memories or any fan of Monatana for that matter.

1994?!? Wow, it doesn't seem like it was that far back into history, but it is a lifetime ago.

Keith Cash spikes Buddy Ryan.

DT crushes Moon.

Allen has one more MVP type game.

It's our last playoff win...yeah...I remember...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

If I remember right, the officials stopped the play for some false start or something, and Anthony Davis didn't hear the whistle. Young stopped and relaxed and Davis almost killed him from the blind side. I felt kind of bad for Young, to be honest, because you could tell he was hurt.

Montana vs Buddy Ryan was great. I remember the TD throw he made to the WR behind the back of the defender. They showed Buddy and he started to cheer then yells "WHAT?" too funny.

I totally agree on them missing the BEST MNF GAME EVER! Montana vs Elway, going back and forth before winning with no time on the clock. Awesome.

Montana was retired in 1997. The game that was listed at #3 was the game in 1993 where KC's defense dominated and DT sacked Young in the end zone for a safety.
