So, now that we have had time to adjust and absorb the smoking ban, how do you feel about it? Was it a good thing, a bad thing, still an unholy infringement on our "civil rights", or do you just not care one way or another?

Finally, I'll just reiterate my thought on this. Either ban cigarettes all together, or ! There have always been plenty of establishments who have chosen to be non smoking. You don't have to shove it down EVERYONE'S throat. Pun intended.

Of all the debates I've seen you have in here, I really wouldn't have imagined that THIS would be the subject that would knock you off your rocker. You're acting like if you get caught smoking in public that you'll get sent to some re-education camp for new programming. Has there been some instance that this ban has affected you negatively and/or personally, outside of you having to step outside for a smoke?

Why stop the hatred where you did? How come bars stop selling alcohol at all? I work goofy hours, it would be nice to be off work at 4 am and be able to grab a beer on the way home.

Obviously I'm missing a bigger picture in your and others eyes. Rights being squashed, and all that. As I said initially, I don't see where anyone is truly suffering, and there certainly is no public outcry these days against the bans....

No as I said before, the smoking ban in Austin doesn't personally affect me in any substantial way. I just happen to give a shit about property RIGHTS.
