Congratulations I reckon. I personally don't understand why one would want to be a member of the NRA. I don't know and I don't want to know what you have to pay but the NRA seems to do a great job fighting the good fight without your money. Maybe you believe in solidarity which is kind of cute.

I don't mock posters like that.

Nope. It was intended as a pun. Whoooooooooooooooooooosh! Look over your head.
Maybe you didn't know you were mocking. That does fit with your general detachment from reality.

I have no idea what this babbling nonsense was posted for. The "cute" I am guessing was an attempt at sounding as if you are just so above things like this. The NRA is defending gun rights and so they have my support~

I remember when it cost $500. I was on the site yesterday looking and it is now $1,000. I should have bit the bullet back in the day.

1-888-678-7894. This is the number to call and get the Life $300 deal. This has been around a few years through Life Members but the demand is such they have expanded it

Life members get a form (once a year, I think) that allows them to sponsor up to 6 new life members for the $300. You have to be signed up to get all the junk mail to get it.

Time to re-up my own membership. I have been doing the 5 year memberships but that $300 life membership sounds almost too good to pass up.

Correct, there are two ways to get the $300 lifetime right now.
1) Have a life member sponsor you
2) Call that number, I'm not sure of all the details, but whoever runs that number gets a percentage of the money made

That chart is taken from : http://www.statisticbrain.com/nation...ra-statistics/

I couldn't add anything in the previous post without messing up the formatting. Here's a blurb from FOX "News" (ugh, take it with a grain of salt) based on an anonymous NRA source:

The National Rifle Association, while staying mostly quiet in the immediate aftermath of the mass shooting in Connecticut, has registered an average of 8,000 new members a day since the tragedy, an NRA source told Fox News.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012...#ixzz2IJOBWxfI

And here's an interesting article about political differences amongst gun owners, referring to NRA and non NRA gun owners with a few comments about gun owners regarding political party:http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...polling-shows/
