Cindy Yorgason says that even for a firearm-friendly state like Utah, it was out of the ordinary.

Yorgason took two photos of the man and posted them on Facebook, where they received hundreds of comments and have been shared more than a thousand times.

The Salt Lake Tribune identified the man as 22-year-old Joseph Kelley, who says he was trying to demonstrate that the weapons aren't dangerous when handled by law-abiding people.

Kelley says the AR-15 he was carrying was unloaded, which is legal.

What a bozo. If you're going to carry a weapon for protection, make sure the damn thing is loaded. If you carry one like this clown did, someone is going to whip your butt, take it from you, and they will load it.

He's a ****ing piece of shit for that. I'm all for people having their weapons, but walking around with an AR-15 is not okay. Walking around with any gun that's not concealed isn't okay IMO.

I do have an issue with the way it is slung. It would look a lot cooler at a higher angle, and I wouldn't want to get poked with the end of the barrel if I was standing in line next to him.
