Not made up as much as it sounds like it: NFL fined 49ers RB Frank Gore $10,500 for wearing his socks too low during NFC Championship Game.

I started off liking goodells hard stance on certain issues, but that has now turned to hate, what a control freak this guy is.

Reminds me of Bowe getting fined for wearing those DAMNED good looking all red socks, that was a SWEET look, very clean and modern.

I love that he fined Earl Bennett for wearing orange cleats, and then Cutler and Marshall wore them (and paid for Bennett's fine IIRC)

instead of fining a guy $10k, who makes Millions, why don't the suspend them for a 1/2 etc.
Guarntee the coaches would make sure they're compliant.

Soooo...every fine goes to a Charity...so the rule breakers are actually really good guys...cuz, you know, they are supporting a charity...

It's interesting that the two most heavily fined teams over time are the ones playing in the Super Bowl.

And Ray Lewis has been fined more than most teams. It looks like he's been involved in a few mean hits over the years.

Also, it looks like it's a mix of fines for any reason - not only on-field conduct. About $2 million out of the 49ers' $2.5 million total was for salary cap violations and the owner getting nabbed in a gambling scandal.
