According to the Newark Star-Ledger, the New York Jets had some discussions about possibly bringing in former Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell who’s looking to make an NFL comeback.
More recently, after Tannenbaum was let go, members of the organization had some very exploratory, informal discussions regarding former Oakland Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell, the 2007 No. 1 overall pick who flamed out of the NFL after the 2009 season. Russell recently decided to mount a comeback in hopes of returning to the league next season.
As I’ve said all year, the circus continues on and I’m not sure it’s going to stop any time soon. Between the Darrelle Revis trade rumors and this story. I don’t think we could ask for better entertainment.

While I DO NOT think this will happen, but I must say, I would straight up love it if he got his weight down, stayed away from the purple drank, took the sport seriously and worked hard because he is out of money and wants more.... If he defies logic and somehow becomes what he was projected by some to be, I think it would be awesome and hilarious considering the Raiders would hands down, be the team that got the major short hand of the stick. Their tears would taste good. I DON'T think this will happen....but God I hope it does.

Except the guy is not an NFL caliber quarterback. He makes Matt Cassel look like Aaron Rodgers.
