Report: Jets talking about giving JaMarcus Russell a shot

Quote:
Report: Jets talking about giving JaMarcus Russell a shot

by Paul Jackiewicz | January 28, 2013

According to the Newark Star-Ledger, the New York Jets had some discussions about possibly bringing in former Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell who’s looking to make an NFL comeback.
More recently, after Tannenbaum was let go, members of the organization had some very exploratory, informal discussions regarding former Oakland Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell, the 2007 No. 1 overall pick who flamed out of the NFL after the 2009 season. Russell recently decided to mount a comeback in hopes of returning to the league next season.
As I’ve said all year, the circus continues on and I’m not sure it’s going to stop any time soon. Between the Darrelle Revis trade rumors and this story. I don’t think we could ask for better entertainment.

Jets apparently operate under the premise that any press is good press. They seem constantly afraid that the world is going to forget they exist.

I'm pretty sure they would be the only team with 3 first round qbs

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Rex will get a tatoo of a Purple Kool-Aid man next bursting through a wall next to one of Tebow in bed with himself.

Wow they're a mess.

Don't have a QB and in no position to solve that problem anytime soon.

The Jets are going to have a horrible year and probably end up with the 1st overall nest season.

JFC that's amazing.

I think Rex Ryan is a pretty good football coach, but otherwise, that entire team is a complete disaster. Tannenbaum has really run them into the ground talent-wise, and now they're looking like idiots for chasing guys that were obvious busts. They would honest-to-god be better redesigning the entire offense around Tebow while trying to figure out the long term fix at QB than doing this.
