I'm an atheist, but my cousins are muslim. They're simple folks, but genuinely polite and generous, just like most Christians I know.

I just wanted to post this so nobody could use the original post to prove that all non-religious people are incapable of differentiating between the actions of a few idiots and a quarter of the world's population.

1) And there aren't crazy-ass Christians that do stuff like bomb abortion clinics?

2) The Koran isn't disturbing unless you're looking for it to be so. It's not any more disturbing than the Bible.

yeah, I don't claim to be an expert in the bible and koran, but as far as I can tell, they're like different versions of the same religion. Jesus, Noah's ark, abraham, all that stuff exists in the koran, just as it does in the bible.

There are suicide bombings ALL THE TIME. Whens the last time an abortion clinic got bombed by a Christian? Thanks.

I have many Muslim friends, and I would trust all of them more than my "Christian" friends. They are always nice, caring and respectful.

Perhaps if you shared the part of the Koran that is giving you trouble, that might help. Is it the part about helping women and children and giving alms to the poor? I know that always pissed me right the hell off.

Many Christians, too, follow the Bible quite literally.
