Isn't there a recent quote from Andy indicating that he plans to build through the draft? That free-agent pieces are complementary pieces and not foundational pieces. Not sure where the article went, but it seemed like an indirect comment about the Eagles situation with Vick. I highly doubt that Alex Smith (or any other notable free-agent/ trade QB) are in the works for KC in the next few years.

Yeah but we are all so scared because of the retards that have run this team lately. We can't be sure that they would draft a decent QB alongside their mediocre FA pickup, let alone actually give the draft choice a real shot.

Reid and Dorsey have some work to do just to get the fans' trust back.

Of course Reid is interested in Smith. Smith looks to be the best available veteran QB. Why shouldn't he be open to the idea when he hasn't had an opportunity to work out any potential draft pick?

I think that's the reason people don't like it. Smith is the QB most likely to start of all the vets. I think it's silly to want a lesser QB just so it's easier for a rookie to supplant him.
