Movies and TV Favorite Sitcom of all time? - Page 4

Some buddies and I were talking at work the other day about what the best sitcoms of all time were....we are all three from different generations, so there were quite a variety of names thrown out there. I'd like to get a broader opinion, and this site gets the most traffic out of any I visit.

So, lets hear your opinions. If the thread is well received and gets quite a few nominees, I'll try and create a poll later on of the top ten, so that we can narrow it down to one.

I'll start by mentioning Seinfeld and The Simpsons.

Seinfeld, I think got off to a slow start the first season or so, but really picked up and had a good run. Very nice finale too with lots of returning characters.

The Simpsons has really fell off the last decade or so, but in its first decade, it was really wonderful.

I don't think Seinfeld sucks but I have lost pretty much any affection for it. Like a great song that gets played on the radio too much until its not enjoyable.

South Park passed the Simpsons by, in my opinion. For animated 30 minute comedy. The Simpsons stopped making me laugh quite a while ago. South Park still makes some episodes so funny it makes me cry. The episode with the Rascals, the episode with Steamy Nicks were so freaking funny. And the episode mocking the Livestrong band was great. It's the best satire on tv, no doubt about it.

I think South Park every now and again comes up with some *really* smart funny stuff but I don't find it consistently enjoyable.

Arrested Development has had higher crests, but seinfeld's longevity was nothing short of incredible.

Pretty good list. Id have to add MASH and All in the family in there for cultural significance if nothing else. IM sure they were before your time though.

I think Parks and Rec has fallen off quite a bit. I leave shows unwatched on my DVR for weeks. It peaked at season 2 and has been just ok since.
